My Vision as NBS Consultant
Nature based solutions are the future leading path adopting to and mitigating the emerging climate crisis and related hazards. Green roofs and walls have so many measurable benefits to offer and perform excellent with other needs such as renewable energy, water and food. They shape the way we deal nowadays with future-oriented urban to rural planning and refurbishment of buildings and infrastructures. As human beings, we relate on nature and biodiversity around us.
My name is Vera Enzi, I am landscape planner and vegetation engineer by profession, with a specific interest on biodiversity and building-related green infrastructure. I work on a global scope. I am proud member of the Nature based enterprises platform and Ambassador for green roof and wall companies. I am an active vice-president of the European Federation Green roof and wall associations, representing Austria.
I see myself as enabler and I love to inspire and bring ideas and projects forward. Due to my colourful career, I was able to collect comprehensive knowledge on policies, strategies, planning, implementation, maintenance, innovation and standards of technologies from an austrian-european, public-private perspective. I am looking forward meeting you and explore how I can support your ideas.

Green solutions for excellent performance
Over the last 15 years of my career as landscape planner, I have been working on different aspects of NBS on buildings (Green Roofs and Walls). In research, I focussed on their measurable benefits and their integration to planning and implementation. As CEO of an innovation laboratory for green buildings in Austria I worked with over 300 partners from business, science and public on new technologies, services, governmental and policy aspects. On a European NPO perspective, I work together with colleagues across 16 EU countries on pan-european projects and EC affairs. Over the years, I have grown a large network of over 3.000 players around me. I love setting up future leading strategies, projects and transferring my knowledge to where it is needed. I have a private interest for nature conservation, organic farming and teaching my little son the secrets of nature around us.
Apart from greening buildings, I am of course familiar with a lot of other types of nature based solution technologies and concepts- for example permeable paving, raingardens, urban farming, sponge city, green infrastructure. I use NBS strategically to counteract, adapt and mitigate climate crisis effects like heat, heavy rain, floods and the loss of plant and animal species. My explicit interest are refurbishment and performance of NBS for buildings, innovations, biosolarrofs, biodiversity elements, animal aided design and climbers walls.

Over the past years, I have worked for and with different entities, from research to SME´s and network organisations in field of climate change adaptation and mitigation services, biodiversity, technoloy and applied sciences.
